Our parish family of St Thomas’ is here for your family with a growing, thriving family ministries program!
We have a small but dedicated team of volunteers who lead Sunday school each week at our 10:30 service.
Children begin in worship with parents. After an opening hymn and a short prayer, the children are invited to go to Sunday school. Children and teachers return to the main worship space in time for communion.
Our lessons are organized by themes and liturgical season and are adapted to be child-friendly. We use a variety of activities and teaching styles, including story-telling, arts & crafts, and interactive activities.
If you have any questions about our children’s ministry, please email the office and we’ll connect you with the right person.
Programming for Children
St Thomas’ has long had an active ministry for youth is fortunate to be led by two parent volunteers, as well as a paid Youth Ministry Apprentice.
Our youth group gathers most Sunday mornings at the 10:30 service, but occasionally takes a Sunday off or gets together offsite for activities.
Our youth are engaged in the life of the parish and are leaders in our community as champions of our ‘Feed the Need – Durham’ food drive ministry.
To learn more about our youth group, please email the office and we’ll put you in touch with one of our youth group leaders.
